Hull Cleaning
Hull cleanings are carried out at outer anchorage whereas polishings are carried out both alongside and at anchorage. Marine fouling along the vessel’s hull will not only compromise the vessel speed but also the paint coating integrity. A vessel hull cleaning may save up to circa 10% on fuel costs which may co-relate to circa 1-3 knots whereas a severely fouled propeller increasing load and incurring speed losses of between 1-2 knots.
Triton Diving Services Ltd operates the ”Triton MK1” a hydraulically operated triple brush cleaning machine capable of cleaning up to 1000 m2/hr. The controlled pressurized oscillating brushes are designed to clean the fouling with as minimal contact as possible to the shell plating thus minimizing paint loss in the process.
